Dear Parents and Carers,
It is wonderful to feel that spring is in the air and the days are getting longer. It also greatly assists with work continuing on our two play spaces, ready for our students to experience and enjoy. We are in the final stages of the concept designs with our Architects on our future Learning Street Project and hope to have these available in the near future to share with the school community on our website.
Last week, it was amazing to have parents and carers returning on site to our annual Book Week parade and see all our students dressed in their favourite book character. Thanks to Kathryn Beilby and the team for organising this event. This week Kathryn has also organised a Book Fair in the library for students and families to come in and purchase some great books and posters. The Book Fair will be open this Wednesday and Friday. We look forward to seeing what is available and we are proud of the way our school promotes reading in our students lives.
Outdoor Education
We value the outdoor education program in our school and last week saw our Year 5 students attend a 3-day camp to Woodhouse activity centre. Our outdoor education program provides students with a camp experience each year, starting with our Year 3 students.
Last term the Year 3 and 4 students visited Narnu Farm on Hindmarsh Island. This was a 2-day camp, providing students with the experience of farm life.
Next term our Year 6 students will take part in a 4-day trip to Kangaroo Island, travelling by ferry to the island and visiting many amazing sites with a wide range of activities. In the past, our Year 6 students have visited Canberra for a 4-day experience, flying direct to the nation’s capital. This trip has been on hold for the last 2 years and we hope to travel there again in the future.
Please check out our Facebook page for great photos of the camp.

Carpark
Finally, I would like to inform the school community that the staff carpark is only for staff vehicles and deliveries. If you need to drop off or collect children during the day, please use the 3-4 car park spaces available on Magill Rd. You can then enter the school using the new promenade gate. PLEASE DO NOT USE THE CARPARK TO WALK THROUGH TO THE OFFICE.
You can also park on Birkinshaw Ave and walk in using the Birkinshaw promenade, however please be mindful of any parking restrictions. We are currently in discussions with the council to change our parking signs on Birkinshaw Ave so that you can park from 9am until 2:45pm during the day. Thank you for your support.
Kind regards
Adrian Grbin
