Festival Choir

Each year our students in Years 5 and 6 have the opportunity to join the Festival Choir, a mass choir from Catholic schools throughout the state, which performs the Festival Theatre. This event is always a great night out that showcases the rich musical talent of students in Catholic schools. We are proud of our long association with the Music Festival and love offering this opportunity for our students.

Instrumental Tuition

The St Joseph’s Tranmere Instrumental Program aims to foster the development of instrumental skills and techniques as well as musicianship.  According to research music has proven to have many benefits. Learning an instrument enhances fine motor skills, fosters superior working memory, cultivates creative thinking, and facilitates student academic achievement literacy, numeracy and other art forms.  It sharpens student attentiveness and creativity.  Students learn skills such as perseverance, goal setting as well as supporting good study habits and self-esteem.  The instrumental lesson choices are piano, voice, guitar and flute for students from Year 1 upwards.
