About Us

Our School

St Joseph’s Tranmere is an Reception to Year 6 co-educational Catholic school offering a caring, values based education in the Josephite tradition. Located in the heart of the eastern suburbs, less than 8kms from the CBD, our school has green gardens, leafy trees, age appropriate play areas and undercover learning spaces.

We offer a diverse range of extra-curricular learning and specialist programs including Italian, Visual and Media Arts and Music.

Our modern facilities include fully air-conditioned class rooms, a multi-purpose hall, full sized basketball/netball/play courts, oval, art room and multi-functional resource centre. For added convenience there is a healthy option lunch service, OSHC for care both before and after school, Family Playgroup and a long transition to school program Little STaRS.

Building Projects: Continuously improving facilities for our students

The next phase of our facilities development is due to start in September 2023 with the building of new classrooms for our Early Years students (Reception to Year 2) with a connecting 'Learning Street' for collaborative learning. Read more.

Our Adventure Playspace has been completed and is being thoroughly enjoyed by our students!   Our students were involved in the design of the playspace and choosing the exciting equipment - all designed to encourage movement and improve both gross and fine motor skills, along with core strength.

Our heritage listed Parish Hall has been beautifully renovated and includes an upgraded OSHC space and kitchen.

We recently purchased the adjoining property next to our oval on Birkinshaw Avenue and have used this space to extend our grassed area and install a Multisports Court.

Alyce - Reception parent

My daughter's transition to St Joseph's Tranmere has been more positive than I could have imagined. In the lead up to starting Reception, children attend every Friday for two terms and are integrated into school life from the get go. My daughter confidently walked through the school gates on her first day of school and I too felt confident knowing that she was going to be learning in a loving, nurturing environment.

The school community is beautiful. Small enough that everyone can be involved and get to know each other and big enough to mean that every opportunity is catered for. The almost 100% attendance at school events shows, not only the schools commitment to families, but also the depth of the community that has developed there.

The Principal, Adrian, knows every child by name. It is clear that he genuinely loves his job and he can be found greeting children in the morning as they arrive and farewelling them at pickup time.

Communication with all staff and teachers has so far been exceptional. We have always felt aware of what was going on and there are ample opportunities to communicate and resolve issues before they arise. It is clear that the staff well and truly uphold the values of the school and see the importance in working collaboratively with families and the whole school community.

We could not have asked for a better start to our daughter's school journey.
