Two Marys
Over the last two weeks we have remembered and celebrated two inspirational women in the Christian Tradition. The Feast Day of St Mary of the Cross was celebrated on the 8th August and our school community gathered for a liturgy. We recalled the strength and courage of Australia’s First Saint and how our school values are founded in the life of Mary MacKillop and the Josephite charism. We also celebrated Mary, the mother of Jesus on the 15th August with the Feast of the Assumption. As the mother of Jesus, Mary offers people a model of discipleship based on faith, love and service. We are fortunate to have these two Marys for inspiration.

Confirmation and First Eucharist Celebrations
Over the last few months 30 of our children and their families have been preparing for two important moments in their sacramental life – Confirmation and First Eucharist. Last week we celebrated Confirmation with their families. Over the next two weeks they will receive Eucharist for the first time in a First Eucharist Mass. We pray for all the children and their families at this very special time.
Stillness, Prayer and Wellbeing
There is a strong link between wellbeing and stillness. Stillness or mindfulness is practised in many religions. One of the gifts of the Catholic Tradition is Christian Meditation. Several of our classes have been practising the art of Christian Meditation and they are naming a sense of peace that comes with being still and in the presence of God. If you would like to know more about Christian Meditation and how simply you can find time for this practice in your life you may find this website useful. - https://wccmaustralia.org.au/
