Mary MacKillop Precinct

The Yr 6 students attended an informative, engaging and interactive event last week at the Mary MacKillop Precinct.

The interactive display outlines the journey of St Mary of the Cross and several of the Sisters who began their vocation with Mary as she started the first Josephite School with Fr Julian Tenison Woods at Penola.  The Museum is filled with many interesting artefacts including Mary’s desk, the original door from the school building from Penola, a sleeve from Mary’s Habit as well as the stories of some of the Sisters who worked with Mary.  As well as visiting the museum, the children wandered around the souvenir shop, and visited the Chapel.

We had lunch at the newly opened Precinct café called High Street and were very well looked after by café staff.

The Precinct is an interesting place for families to visit.  Opening hours can be found on the web site at https://www.marymackillopadelaide.org.au/  The volunteers at the Museum would love to show you around!

2020/21 Sacramental Programme

Families who have identified as being of the Catholic Faith, and whose child/ren will be in Yr 3, Yr 4 or Yr 5 in 2021, should have received an email from me last week, with information about a meeting that the Parish is presenting on Wed 11th November at 7pm in the Church.   Existing enrolments remain with the Parish but you are encouraged to attend this meeting in order to hear how the programme will run for 2021.
