Dear Parents and Carers,

Sports Day – rescheduled

Thank you for your understanding and support regarding the postponement of our Sports Day today. We have rescheduled for Tuesday 13 October (Week 1 Term 4) at Murray Park. We are asking all students to come to school as normal, and go into their class.   Students will need to wear their sports colours, school hat, take their recess and bring a labelled drink bottle. The class teachers and school staff will walk the students to Murray Park, where they will participate in all the sporting events, including:  health hustle, sprints, relays and various games. We will then return to school for lunch.

Parents will be allowed to attend, however we will ask you to sign in at the oval for our COVID requirements, as well as maintain physical distancing at all times.  If you wish to take your child home after the Sport Day presentations or after lunch at school, you will just need to inform the class teacher and sign them out.

A full program will be emailed to families for you to see the order of events, today.

The Catholic Schools Music Festival

Due to COVID, the Music Festival took on a very different format this year. On Tuesday afternoon, our choir attended their filming session at Sacred Heart College, along with the other schools that had been scheduled for what would have been their performance night last week.

Our students have worked hard over the last 3 terms to learn the songs and remember all the actions that go with the performance. We are all extremely proud of them and thank them for their commitment and singing talent.

We say a special thank you to Ms. Alison Hull for all her work in preparing the students for this special performance.  We look forward to seeing the video next term.

Eastern Star Workshops – Resilience in Children

I would like to remind you to register for the Developing Resilience in Children Workshop, facilitated by Positive Minds Australia – Madhavi Nawana Parker. You have two options as the workshop is available on Friday 16 October at 9:15am at St Joseph’s School, Payneham or you can attend the evening option on Tuesday 20 October at 6:45pm at St Francis of Assisi School. You must register to book your place. Please email Suzanne Budd Suzanne.budd@cesa.catholic.edu.au

We would love to see many of our families attending and accessing this free workshop and I encourage you to keep an eye out for more of these valuable parent sessions next year.

I would like to acknowledge and thank everyone for their hard work this term. All students and teachers should be proud of their efforts as we are all looking forward to the break.

Finally, I would like to wish everyone a happy and safe term break and look forward to seeing you back on Monday 12 October for the start of Term 4

Kind regards

Adrian Grbin
