International Day of Peace – 2020 Peace Day Theme: Shaping Peace Together Monday September 21st 2020.

Let us pray

God who cherishes and desires peace for our world, You call us to bring peace into every place and every heart. May we put our abiding trust in Christ, the Prince of Peace, and follow his lead in shaping peace together. We ask this in the name of Jesus.

Amen.

Mary MacKillop Today fund raiser

On Week 10, on Thursday 24th September 2020, there will be a fund raiser for Mary MacKillop Today, in the form of a Casual Clothes Day for Students.  Students are asked to each bring a gold coin donation to contribute to the fund raiser.  Funds raised will assist with setting up a mobile kindy in Fiji.  The Sisters of St Joseph and their associated agencies fund a variety of special projects both here in Australia and overseas.

Students from the Hospitality Team will have a raffle of Guess How Many Jelly Beans in the Jar.  Tickets will be sold for 50 cents each or 3 for $1.00.  Students from the Lunch Club will be playing music in the Middle Yard as well as setting up free finger nail painting.

Hats are still a requirement.  Clothing needs to be appropriate for school and students need to wear closed footwear.

Thank you for your support of Mary MacKillop Today.

Child Protection Week

This week is Child Protection Week.  Putting Children First is the theme for 2020. Cyber safety continues to be a source of worry as our children are exposed to more and more inappropriate content.  Recent events bring to mind that it is really important that we know what our children are accessing when they are on devices.  We can put our children first by frequently discussing with our children about content that makes them feel uncomfortable and by making sure we really know what they are watching.  The age old of cry of children saying “everyone else is watching this or that show” isn’t necessarily true!
