Green and Gold Day – Friday 5th July
An annual fundraiser for the MacKillop Today Foundation is Green and Gold Day. Children are encouraged to wear green or gold T’Shirts, scrunchies, socks, scarves etc to school and give a $2.00 donation to the Foundation. Green and Gold Day is the last day of Term 2, Friday 5th July 2019. The MacKillop Today Foundation is supported by other community groups in conjunction with the Sisters of St Joseph. Funds raised go towards projects aimed at improving outcomes for Indigenous students including tertiary scholarships. Green and Gold Day is facilitated by the members of the Just Leadership Team. This year we will have a parade and a short prayer service at 11.30am.
Sacramental Programme 2019
Thank you to those families who were able to attend the recent Mid Year Community Mass for children who are part of this year’s Confirmation and First Eucharist preparation.
Confirmation workshops were completed this week and First Eucharist workshops begin on Monday 1st July 2019. Workshop times are 4.30pm and 5.45pm. All workshops are held in the Church.
On Sunday 18th August 2019 at the conclusion of 9.30am Mass, there will be a rehearsal for First Eucharist and Confirmation. This is an important part of preparation for all candidates and there is an expectation that all candidates attend this preparation.
Sacramental Programme 2020
Later in the year there will be a meeting for all parents of children of the Catholic Faith who are eligible for Sacramental preparation. Children must be in Year 3 for 2020 in order to begin preparation for the Sacrament of Reconciliation (Confession). Students in Year 4 and above are eligible for Confirmation and First Eucharist (Holy Communion). Please contact Cynthia Thompson at cthompson@stjotran.catholic.edu.au if you wish for your child to part of the Sacramental Programme in 2020.
Moore Street Soup Run

A SkoolBag notification has also gone out as a reminder. The Soup Run takes place on Tuesday 25th June 2019, leaving school at 9.30am.
