Catholic Schools Music Festival

27.09.17

Last week the Catholic Schools Music Festival celebrated their 29th annual Music Festival at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre.  Over the two evenings, 1400 primary school students sang in the massed choir and over 250 secondary students performed in a variety of support acts, including bands, vocal ensembles, instrumental and solo acts.

Dr Neil McGoran writes 'the premier event continues to be a highlight of Catholic Education and a wonderful celebration of the musical talents of Catholic School students'.

It is truly an amazing event to be part of and I feel very privileged and proud to have supported our choir of 28 dedicated students.

"What a wonderful showcase of extremely talented children.  This was our first experience with the festival choir and we really enjoyed the evening. We loved the fact that our choir showed joy at participating - particularly with great gusto with the actions to some of the songs.  It was terrific to see St Joseph's Tranmere in the second row of the choir and clearly very well prepared with all of the children demonstrating they knew the songs and the actions - a wonderful demonstration of great preparation - well done Alison".   Julie, Peter and Eloise Jansen

‘A wonderful night's entertainment was had by all at the Catholic Schools Festival Choir last Tuesday. Many thanks to Alison for all her hard work in training our choir. The students were well prepared, not only for their vocal performance, but their discipline was obvious in their behaviour and presence on stage. We can be very proud of the students who represented our school at The Entertainment Centre. This was my first Festival Choir and I loved it! Thank you so much to all!!’    Jane Hill.

The Catholic Schools Music Festival was a wonderful night and very entertaining with oodles of talent. I am sure there were plenty of nerves from all the participants but these did not show when they walked onto the stage. The choir should be extremely proud of themselves. They performed with such enthusiasm and spirit, were well presented, co-ordinated and behaved to a high standard.  It was a credit to the school, both teachers and students. Congratulations and well done.  Genelle and Barry Ayling
