Dear Parents and Carers,
As I reflect on the last 10 weeks it is amazing to think how quickly the term has gone. I have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know the students, staff and families. I have certainly felt the warmth and wonderful sense of belonging to such a caring and supportive community. I have appreciated the way families have welcomed me and I really look forward to getting to know the whole school community.
I have valued the efforts of all the students and staff this term and congratulate everyone on a wonderful term of teaching and learning. I’m sure everyone is looking forward to a happy and restful holiday break.
New School Logo
You may have notice a change lately! We have a new school Logo- which has be refreshed. We feel it is much sharper and certainly clearer, making it stand out from the crowd. We hope to make the change over this year. You may start to notice the new logo appearing on letterheads, website, emails and signage. Some items will take longer such as uniforms and our latest student mid-year reports. If you haven’t seen it, keep an eye out and let us know what you think.
Year 5-7 Sport
It has been wonderful to see the Years 5-7 students’ positive approach to the sporting events this term. This has included the Athletics Carnival, Friday afternoon Sporting Sessions at Daly Oval and most recently the Catholic Schools Netball Carnival, where boys and girls teams participated in a full day of netball games. Our school entered 12 teams and all students had the opportunity to participate and compete against other catholic schools.
I would like to thank all our volunteers who have assisted with coaching, umpiring, supervising and supporting their child. We certainly cannot make these events possible without your help. Thank you to our teaching staff for their support and organisation, making this highly successful. We hope to expand this sporting program for our students so they have a chance to actively experience a range of sports.
Staffing
I wish to inform the school community that Stephanie King, who has been one of our amazing Education Support Officers (ESO) this year is leaving us. Stephanie will be taking up a teaching role at Kapunda Primary School. We would like to thank her for all her hard work supporting our students and wish her well for the future.
We also would like to say thank you to Daniel Colagrossi who has been the class teacher in Year 3/4 while Mr Maio has been on long service leave over the last 5 weeks. Thank you for all your efforts and assistance. We will certainly see Daniel back next term as one of our regular Temporary Relief Teachers.
Yesterday we had a special visit from Mandy Herbert and baby Iris. It was wonderful to see them both and Iris certainly had everyone's attention as we all lined up for a hold. Both mother and baby are doing really well.
Finally I would like to wish everyone a happy and safe holiday. I hope you have a restful break with your family and I look forward to seeing you all next term.
Kind regards
Adrian
