Netball Netta - 20.05.17: Tranmere 3 defeated Nailsworth 2 in an exciting first win of the season. The girls displayed brilliant defence and determination all game. They passed the ball accurately and showed a greater understanding of each position on court. A great game that they should be very proud of. Our goal scorers this week were Leila and Adriana. Netball Sub Junior 5 - 20.05.17: Our second game pitted us against a very tall and well drilled East Adelaide team. Their skill and good goal shooting saw them run out comfortable winners. Whilst we suffered a loss in Week 2, I was very pleased with our teams enthusiasm for our Week 3 game. Unfortunately our Week 3 game was a forfeit. We’re practicing well and now looking forward to our next game. Go tigers! Coach Julie Jansen
Netball Primary 5 – 13/5/17: Congratulations to each and every one of the girls for their effort on Saturday. Our movement of the ball through the centre of the court was excellent and was backed up with awesome shooting and defending. The girls showed great team spirit and their hard work and commitment was rewarded with a 16-2 win over Loreto. Go Tigers! Coach Mickey Carey
Netball Subjunior 7 - 13/5/17: Tranmere Tigers fought very hard to turn the game around resulting in a draw against Marryatville. Ruby and Natalia worked very efficiently intercepting the ball in defence while Georgie, Georgia and Alexandra worked very hard to bring the ball down the court to deliver to Alissa and Emily in goal. Netball Subjunior 7 - 20/5/2017: St Jo’s defeated St Ignatius in a convincing win. Alexandra stepping up to the “C”, (Centre) role working very hard to bring the ball down the court. Great effort by Ella and Alissa displaying beautiful team work in the goals. Natalia, who never gives up on the court, continues to show amazing defence and strength in the GD, (Gole Defence), position with help from the very flexible Ruby who has amazing skill reading and intercepting the ball. The ongoing team spirit by Georgie, Georgia and Alexandra continues in the centre of the court often turning the ball around in our favour. Soccer Under 8 - 13/5/2017: Tranmere- 8, St Raphael's-1. Our first game proved to be both a fun and successful one! All our players displayed great teamwork and enthusiasm which was the perfect way to start the season. Well done to Daniel and Ari for some great work in the forward line. Go Tranmere!!! Senior Soccer Team – 13.05.17: St Joseph’s Tranmere defeated St Joseph’s Memorial 7-0. On a beautiful sunny autumn morning, our Senior soccer team started the year perfectly with a round one win in the prestigious Jim Huffadine Cup. Zac in goal had a quiet day while down the opposite end there was action a plenty with Jack scoring our first goal of the year followed by Sam in the first half. In the second half we really dominated play with captain Natalia hitting the crossbar, two goals from Kael and a hat-trick from Anton. Thank you to Sam Abishara and Peter Montin who volunteered as our linesman and ground Marshall. Coach Lino Piotto
Senior Soccer Team – 20.05.17: St Joseph’s Tranmere defeated St Raphael’s 6-2. After falling behind initially, we fought back with goals from Anthony and Kael to tie the match at two-all at half time. In the second half, we really found our stride with super performances from defenders Chloe, Patrick, Zac, Sam and Moses as goalkeeper to thwart all efforts of attack from St Raphael’s. Then came an onslaught from St Joseph’s, - 4 goals within 10 minutes from Jack, Kristian and a double from Anton, securing progression into the quarter finals next Saturday in the Jim Huffadine Cup.
